Children’s Home Based Intensive
Family Services
This program provides assessment and linkage to
services for eligible children and youth in need. It facilitates
immediate stabilization of acute symptoms of mental illness and/or
emotional stress. The goal is to foster and support family unity while
maintaining a safe environment for the child and family.
All children served are at risk of out-of-home
placement by the State Department of Human Services, Child Welfare
Division. Program values include the belief that the family of origin
is the best place for a child as long as their safety and well-being is
assured. A goal is that the family unit should be disrupted only in
extreme cases when the safety of the child is at risk.
The philosophy is to provide family-focused, child
centered, culturally competent in-home services where the child, family
and community are part of a dynamic system. This comprehensive,
integrative strength based approach explores key dimensions (e.g.
safety, social functioning, health, education, mental health, basic
living skills, family support, cultural, spiritual, and legal needs)
that impact the functioning of the family.
These services are available only from Red Rock
West.
Over 90% of children served were residing with
their family at the time of case closure.
